A Sweet Color Combination

I'm still on a "Thankful" kick and needed some variety. I saw a card on Pinterest (can't find the link) with this layout and a similar color scheme and I fell in love with it. I've been wanting to put Bermuda Bay and Gold Foil together for some time now. This was a perfect reason!

Supplies
Cardstock ~ Bermuda Bay, Hello Honey. Crisp Cantelope
DSP ~ Lullaby
Stamp Sets ~ Hello There, Let Your Hair Down
Accessories ~ VersaMark, White Embossing Powder, Gold Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Dimensionals, Adhesive, Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Gold Foil Sheet, Stapler/Staples, Glue Dots, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle, 1 3/4" scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch

Just Wanted To Say...

Now that Christmas is over and we've successfully rung in the New Year, it's time to get those Thank You cards out! Does the Cobbler ever have any shoes? Nope. So, I locked myself in my office and went to work. I was obviously still in the sparkly-star mood because I found myself making nearly the SAME card as last time. I do love this color combo. Black and Very Vanilla with a little Gold sparkle. Perfect!

Ink ~ Basic Black, Black StazOn

Kinda in Love with Kinda Eclectic

Today is Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration's New card sketch challenge. It's a fun sketch with a LOT of room for creativity. I like room!

Here's the Sketch!

The new Stampin' Up! catalog is out! Yippie!!! Along with over half of the new catalog, I fell in love with this stamp set the moment I saw it. It strays a little from my style of stamping, but I really love how soft and girly it is. What is happening to me? First it's flowers, now it's butterflies?

Here's my Creation!

What I Used:
Cardstock ~ Crumb Cake, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
Ink ~ Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron
Stamp Set ~ Kinda Eclectic
Tools/Other Supplies ~ Paper trimmer, Apothecary Framelits, All Purpose Liquid Glue, Versa Mark, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Banner Punch
Embellishments ~ Essentials Wooden Elements, Natural Chevron Ribbon

A Crisp Thank You Card

I finall had time to play with my pre-order goodies! I'm a long-time fan of Crisp Cantaloupe, so I was tickled pink that it went perfectly with the new Lullaby Designer Series Paper!

I paired Crisp Cantaloupe with Silver Glimmer Paper and Silver Emboss powder for this look. It turned out to be a fun combination. I wasn't too sure at first.

Wondering where I got the silver antique brad? It's just covered with silver emboss powder. So easy! All you have to do is heat the brad with your heat gun for a few seconds and dip it directly into the emboss powder.

What I Used:
Cardstock ~ Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
DSP ~ Lullaby
Ink ~ Crisp Cantaloupe
Stamp Sets ~ Postage Due, Chalk Talk, Petite Petals
Tools/Other Supplies ~ Paper trimmer, vellum, versamark, silver embossing powder, heat tool, dimensionals, glue dots, liquid adhesive, hot glue, petite petals punch
Embellishments ~ Silver baker's twine, antique brads, basic metal buttons, vintage faceted designer buttons, white satin ribbon, crisp cantaloupe thick bakers twine

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration ~ June Color Challenge

It's color challenge time over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration! These challenges are usually the toughest for me. I have no idea why. You'd think it would be easier not having to come up with your own color scheme. I think it's difficult because I usually take things so literally. Luckily with this color scheme, it was fairly easy.

I instantly thought of flowers when I saw this color combination. Since Happy Watercolor has the BEST flower, I decided to go that route. I really love this flower. It is so fun to make it three dimensional. Which is one of my favorite things to do to a card. I like things that stand out!

My take:

Supplies
Cardstock ~ Blushing Bride, Soft Suede, Whisper Whtie
DSP ~ Lullaby
Ink ~ Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Suede, Black StazOn, Basic Black
Stamp Sets ~ Happy Watercolor, Something to Say

Blended Bloom ~ A NEW favorite!

Blended Bloom has QUICKLY grown on me. I really love this stamp and it's endless possibilities! When I see a stamp, I instantly think of all of it's three dimensional potential. This one is amazing. Not only can you totally customize it's color, but you can build it in layers and make it absolutely POP out of the page.

I spent the better part of an afternoon playing around with color combinations for this flower. I always go back to the Crisp Cantaloupe/Strawberry Slush combo. I think it's fabulous. It really complimented Crumb cake and Gold as well. Aside from spending hours coloring these flowers (there were 5 on this card total), this card was relatively simple to put together.

The Envelope!

Around the World ~ Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge #AW17

I have been stuck on this impressionistic technique for some time now. I really need to jump onto something new, but I just LOVE this effect. I also really enjoy the {Happy Watercolor} stamp set. The flower is so much fun to color and give dimension to.

This sketch came from Around the World Stampin' Up Challenge. I strayed from the sketch a little. I decided to go with a vertical version. That's me... the rule breaker!

Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration ~ Teacher Appreciation

I can't believe that this school year is almost over. Where has the time gone? My little ones are growing up way too fast! This fall I will have a Kindergartner and a 3rd Grader. What?

As this year comes to an end, we wanted to celebrate our wonderful teachers. What comes to my mind when I think Teacher? Apples. I didn't want to wrap up just any apple, so I wrapped up a caramel apple. Perfect! Stampin' Up! What else do I think of? Chalkboards! So, I combined the two. This was a simple, quick project that I think their teachers will love.

Stop by Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration to check out some other wonderful Teacher Appreciation gifts!

Wine tags... You're the Best!

I live smack dab in the middle of wine country. Yeah, it's rough. There are so many wonderful wineries out here it's ridiculous. So, I thought I'd make some cute little wine tags. It's so much fun to give a bottle of my favorite to a loved one, but it's even better to be able to personalize it.

I absolutely LOVE this color combination. Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse and Crumb Cake. How fabulous is that? I love that it's masculine and modern.

The Open Sea #141: A Ship in the Night

I've recently fallen {back} in love with this stamp set. I've only used it a couple of times so it feels new and exciting again. I created this card for my addition to Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration's Framelits Friday post. I couldn't be more pleased with how this turned out. Since it was a Framelits theme, I wanted LOTS of layers. I think I accomplished that. It's a fatty! Double postage for sure. I love how much depth this card has. Perfect for a nautical theme, right?

*The background for the card was created using sponges and markers.
*I stamped and colored a second ship and cut the sails out and added it to the original stamp. Popping one side of the sail out with dimensionals. It gave it an amazing 3-D look.

Supplies:
Cardstock ~ Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip (Core'dinations)
Ink ~ Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Soft Suede, Baked Brown Sugar, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy, Black StazOn
Stamp Sets ~ The Open Sea, Itty Bitty Banners, Gorgeous Grunge
Embellishments ~ 1/8" mini brads, hemp twine

Gratitude is Beautiful!

I needed a Thank You card. I wanted something a little Christmasy because (well, it's the Christmas season), but I didn't want it to be TOO Christmasy. Yes, I know Christmasy isn't a word, but I'm using it anyway. I finally got to use my Beautifully Baroque stamp. I am in {LOVE} with this one! How classy is that?

Cardstock ~ Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloupe (core'dinations), Very Vanilla
DSP ~ First Edition (retired)
Ink ~ Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloupe
Stamp Sets ~ Beautifully Baroque, Harvest of Thanks
Embellishments ~ Espresso colored satin ribbon (not a Stampin' Up! product)

With Gratitude

Wow. This card took F O R E V E R  to complete. It doesn't look like much. I'm trying to think what took SO long. I think it was the leaves. I probably stamped a dozen before I got the colors I wanted. The turkey took a while too. It was done with markers. Oh, and the feather. That took a while as well. I guess it all adds up. I won't even admit to how long it took from start to finish. This card has been entered in the SUO Challenges blog for challenge #82 Harvest Time!

Here's the Sketch!

I got this wonderful color combination from Fab Friday's Blog. They also have wonderful challenges. This was from challenge #26.

Here's the color combo!
