Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all! I hope you all are feeling loved today. I am very excited for tonight. We are having a quiet dinner at home with the kids. I've made a special treat just for them. Strawberry Cheesecake! Not only is it their favorite, but it's wrapped up in this ADORABLE little jar with a sweet little Valentine note for each of them. I hope they like them!

Supplies
Cardstock ~ Pool Party, Whisper White
DSP ~ Fresh Prints
Ink ~ Real Red
Stamp Set ~ Hearts a Flutter
Tools ~ Paper Trimmer, 3/16" corner round punch, Itty Bitty Banner framelits, Hearts a Flutter framelits, Dimensionals, hole punch
Embellishments ~ Red yarn

Strawberry Cheesecake Recipe:
4 - 5 mini Mason jars
8oz. Cream Cheese
8oz. Cool Whip
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
1/2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp. lemon juice

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and whip until smooth and fluffy. I used my whisk attachment on medium – high speed for a minute or two.

Crust:
9 Honey Graham Crackers (crushed)
1/3 cup Butter (melted)

Crush the graham crackers into crumbs and drizzle melted butter into the bowl. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of your jar.

Layer crust, cheesecake to assemble your pie. Then, I topped it with a can of strawberry pie filling.
Enjoy!!!

Sweet Treats #144: A Gift of Love

I'm not normally a Valentine's Day kinda girl. It's usually all too mushy for me. I'm such a tomboy. Ugh! Anyway, I got a wild hair and decided to make something cute and Valentinesy. Yes, I know that's not a real word. I saw a cute little gift box on Pinterest this morning and just HAD to come up with my own spin on it. Besides, I have a LOT of retired Valentine's supplies that I need to use up! I really like how this turned out. I can't wait to stuff it with goodies and send it on it's way!

Supplies:
Cardstock ~ Primrose Petals, Whisper White, Pool Party core'dinations
DSP ~ More Amore (retired)
Misc ~ Window Sheets
Ink ~ Basic Black, Primrose Petals, Pool Party
Stamp Sets ~ Hearts a Flutter, Affection Collection
Embellishments ~ Pirouette Pink Chevron ribbon

Smooch #142: A Sweet Change of Pace

After the Christmas rush, it was nice to get a little time to do something new. Valentine's Day is coming and it will be here before we know it, so I decided to {try} to get a head start. I don't have many {any} specific Valentine's Day stamp sets (I'll have to work on that), so I improvised.

I am in LOVE with Beautifully Baroque. I wasn't sure if I really would use it much, but so far I've used it QUITE a bit. I'm pretty happy with that purchase! This is a simple card, it was quick to put together and everything turned out right the first time!

The sketch is from Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration.

*I had to add a little "oomph" so I put in a cute little window. It was so simple, but it added so much.

Supplies:
Cardstock ~ Sahara Sand, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Cherry Cobbler, silver emboss powder
Stamp Sets ~ Beautifully Baroque, Off the Grid, Ciao Baby, Itty Bitty Banners
Embellishments ~ Cherry Cobbler Chevron Ribbon

Perfectly Perfect

I totally stole this layout from a card I saw on Pinterest a few days ago. Good ole' Pinterest! I absolutely HAD to put one together. I love all the different layers. To me, you can't have too many layers! I used a couple of my new stamp sets for this one. Vintage Verses for the little note inside the envelope. Pretty Petites for a few of the squares on the banner. Along with a few from the 2012 - 2013 catalog. I also used the new designer brads from the Spring catalog. Of course I gave it an antiqued look. This is a generic card that can be used for any occasion.

The inside of the card is decorated too! I used my old favorite  Fresh Vintage for the outside trim in coordinating colors from the front. LOVE this look!

Hearts a Flutter

I'm seriously in love with this stamp set. I got it a while ago and just now had time to play with it. You'll find it in the Spring catalog on page 11. You can get it in a bundle with the matching Framelits Dies. GENIUS! I also used the new Chalkboard effect I've been seeing all over Pinterest. SO SIMPLE! A little white ink and a sponge dauber. Seriously easy. I used a white colored pencil to outline the edges, just to add a little more depth. I hate a flat card!
