Since the kids are back to school, I needed to create a card for Kylie's (2nd Grade) teacher. I don't have ANY school-related stamps. None. Zip. Zilch. I totally had to comb through my stamp sets to come up with SOMETHING that would do. The sketch is from the Paper Craft Crew for challenge #57. The color combo came from The Paper Players challenge #161. I really liked how it turned out. Another fabulous color combo that I would have never come up with on my own.
My take on the sketch and color combo:
Supplies:
Cardstock ~ Smoky Slate, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
Ink ~ Strawberry Slush, Certainly Celery, Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate
Stamp Sets ~ Positively Chevron, Off the Grid, Gorgeous Grunge, From my Heart, Hearts a Flutter, That's the Ticket, and ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers
Embellishments ~ Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, Hardware Clips Essentials
*white string (not SU)
What a fun card! Thanks for sharing. Found your blog on Pinterest! I am your newest follower. Love your wit, and your "about me" won me over! :)

Thank you Kathy!
ReplyDeleteLove how you used the colors from the challenge badge, Melissa! I agree, there are not nearly enough school related stamps out there and I have none as well. You did a fab job creating one by using letters and numbers. Thanks for playing along with us this week at The Paper Players!
ReplyDeleteHoly guacamole, you've done a fabulous job combining very different stamp sets. They look like they were made for each other. Love all the little details and your take on the sketch is perfect. So glad you got some time in your craft cave and shared this with us at The Paper Players!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous, Melissa. Love what you've come up with for our sketch challenge. I'm so totally with you with the Happy Dance thing when our school year starts here too. Thanks for playing along with the Paper Craft Crew this week. Carolyn x
